The Königstuhl is a hill in the eastern part of the city of Heidelberg. The US Army operated a telecommunications station here, which had a helipad.

During the Cold War

Use

Helicopter landing site at the Königstuhl Radio Relay Station, a microwave station of the US Army.

Airspace and procedures

Instruction from the year 1963: Prior permission for landing required for all pilots not assigned to the US Army Signal Brigade, Europe APO 403. Landing details are available from Aviation Officer, Signal Brigade, telephone: Heidelberg Military 7741, 8815.
