The history of the Cold War airfields: Kunice

Location

Kunice is located 11 km southeast of Słubice, at the Oder river. The airfield was located directly on the border to the former East Germany.

The airfield was ca. 1 km northeast of Kunice.

During the Cold War

Use

Probably a military auxiliary field.

Immediately to the south of the airfield was a railway track, which was prepared for a backup crossing of the Oder river for wartime use. It is unclear if the airfield was in a relation to this.

Situation
